Remote area calculation NFPA 13 for sprinklers

Hi
I am currently working on a project in Cambridge, MA.

My question is that i cant seem to find anywhere:

1. I am renovating a building on three floors. If i am simpling just relocating sprinkler heads in the basement, (demo 4 and adding 4 in a similar location) are hydraulic calculations required to submit for permits?

2. My next situation is: I am simply removing a branch line and sprinkler head in an office that is being demo'd. the head wasn't required for coverage as I had enough already. Are hydraulic calculations necessary for permit submittals?

if you know the answer please guide what code is used. I am beginning to think its a local AHJ topic.

Thank you in advance,
Leon

Pardon us for observing that this is a forum for lawn sprinkler topics. Fire sprinklers are another matter entirely.

When you do find a forum more useful to you, remember to include your location when you post, as codes can vary.
