Controller Wire-Only one working

Changed my controller to a wireless version and now only one strand works out of the wire that goes to my backyard. Before I switched to the 2nd generation Rachio, all the wires used to work. I tested the strands with a voltage meter and didn't get a reading when I activated the zones connected to the other strands. What would be the best way to fix this issue?

Cut the controller wire and create new strands? Install a new outdoor controller for the backyard? Digging up the old wire is somewhat doable but it's about pretty long way to dig!
