Adding a spigot

When our irrigation was put in, the guy ran a line to my garden so a spigot could be put on. However, he put a 1" threaded male piece at the end of the line (and capped it), but it doesn't fit any of our hoses. How would I go about fixing it so that a hose could be attached?

Many thanks!
