part of zone 1 keep running, while running other zones

Yesterday sprinkler technician came, check all the wires are connected correctly and have power from zone 1 and other zones. We replaced the diagphram and solenoid of zone 1 with new rainbird part. Technician agreed with my analysis since I capped part of zone 1 that keep running while other zone is running, after shut off the controller, those 4 heads popping up after few minutes popped back down to the ground. There must be a leak diagphram on zone.

After replacing zone 1 with new rainbird diagphram and solenoid, it did not fix the problem.

Does anyone knows what would be the problem and next step to do to fix it? Why is part of zone 1 which is begin front the front garage door to gate keep running, while the remaining of the zone 1 from gate to front house flower bed not running, while running other zones?

When running zone 1, it work just fine, it run all the heads of zone 1 from front garage to end of front house flower bed. Only when running other zone, 1st part of zone 1 which begin from front of garage to the gate, keep running while other zone is running. It did not run 2nd part of zone 1 from gate to flower bed, while other zone is running. It does not matter which zone after zone 1 running from zone 2-12 running eah of them. The 1st part of zone 1 is always on and sprinkler water on those 4 heads. Zone 6 and Zone 10 each running only 1st part of zone 1 again. Zone 7 has no activity, when I turned on although the controller shown zone 7 is blinking like other zone when running and sprinkler water

It sounds like zone 1 is actually 2 physical valves in the field that are wired together or one wire attached to both valves in different locations. Do you have 2 wires wired into the zone 1 port at the controller? ( 1 wire can be split in the field too!) It sounds like you have a stuck valve and the system has a Master Valve ( A Valve wired in series of the Main line plumbing) which is why half of the zone 1 only stays on during actual run time with the controller.

In Ohm test can give you clarity - IF the valves are wired in series then your ohm resistance is cut in half then normal. If wired parallel then your ohm resistance is doubled. Use all other zones as a point of reference for in average ohm range of 20-60 ohms.

Your next step is to locate the stuck valve- Walk to all exposed valves and turn on manually to see what the valve does in order to narrow your search parameter( More then likely you will need to turn on a dummy zone if you have a master valve) . If you cannot find the valve then you need a wire tracer- My suggestion is to disconnect the wiring the known location of valve part 1 and trace out zone 1 at the controller by connecting the tracer to the common and zone 1 wire to provide a quick locate to the stuck valve. IF not you have to locate all valves, trace out common line and break down the system electrically to track it down
