Help please! New house and very little knowledge on irrigation systems.

I apologize in advance because I know very little about irrigation systems. I moved into an older house about a week ago and it has an irrigation system but I can not figure out how to make it run. First I can not find where to even turn the water on to the system, I imagine it was turned off when I moved in because nobody was living in it and winter just past. I have been up by the street and checked and there is only one on/off valve in there which is my main water shutoff to everything and it is turned on (obviously). My house does not have a crawl space because it is in Florida and it is one story. I am out of ideas of where to look to even verify if the water is on/off on the system.

My pump does not have an on off valve ontop of it like I have seen a few neighbors.

Here is a picture of my pump:

As you can probably see in the picture there is a light switch type box on the left side of the pump which I have turned on and off and to my knowledge it has done absolutely nothing.

Here is also a picture of my control box:

I have a general understanding of how the controls in the box work but it is old and a lot of the writing is worn off so if I can actually get the system running I will probably replace it to something more modern.

Any recommendations will be highly appreciated, and I can take more pictures if necessary.

Thanks for your help.
