Connecting NEW backyard valve system to existing system (located in the front yard)

Pardon my ignorance in this matter, but we are at a total loss.

Bought our home a year ago, which was preconfigured with working irrigation in the front yard, and a pvc post and wiring in the rear yard. Giving us the option to add irrigation as needed. The front yard has a single valve system, and we just installed a three valve system in the rear yard to that existing PVC post and wiring. In the rear yard we have connected (1) control wire to (2) solenoids valve wires (the third we are not making operational quite yet), and then connected (1) blue wire to (1) solenoid valve wire and (1) green wire to (1) solenoid valve wire. The front yard is wired with (1) control wire and (1) red wire to the solenoid valve wires, and those cable runs directly into our garage, into the control box.

Now, this is where we get confused. The wires in our backyard lead out to the valve system in the front. Are we supposed to splice these wires together (and if so, any tips on how to connect the wires this way), or did the contractors make a mistake by not running these wires into the garage where the control box is located?

Ok, so you have a wire bundle that runs from the controller out to the front box. One of the wires going to the front valve is your common wire. That wire must be spliced to the wires going to the back and must connect to one of the wires for each solenoid. The other solenoid wires should be connected separately to individual wires which need to be spliced in the front box to whatever loose wires you have which lead back to the controller. So your circuits are going to be running from the garage to the front box and then to the back box.
