Rainbird Weather sensor winterize?

Hi,

I'm wondering whether I need to do anything to winterize the weather sensor - it's a Rainbird ESP-SMT weather sensor, connected via wire to the controller. I saw that Hunter recommends removing any water from the cup and covering with a plastic bag, but couldn't find any guidance from Rainbird on their weather sensors. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
