Test Cock Break

The test cock on my sprinkler backflow resistor is broken with the thread stuck inside. Can I simply apply sealant or do you I have to replace the test cock?

And then
Get it inspected.

A brand new backflow preventer is just an expensive piece of pipe if it is not working correctly.

As a BackflowInspector.com I see about 30 percent of brand new backflow preventers fail due to installation with debris, pvc, copper, shavings, or dirt, or springs or check valves needing to be reset.
