Anti-siphon issues

Hi there:

New to this site!! For the past two weeks we have had very low water pressure in our backyard tap. Before that it was fine. The tap is an anti-frost type with anti-siphon cap on it. We took out the stem and valve and tried the water pressure and it is fine. About the time the low pressure started the anti-siphon cap was removed and put back on. Does it need to be re-primed somehow to work? all seals and gaskets look fine. Any thoughts on how to get mey pressure back would be apreciated.
