Nelson 7904 Valve Solenoid

One sprinkler zone stopped working. I located the valve, found it was a Nelson 7904. I ordered what was identified as a replacement solenoid for the 7900 series the 7962P but it is the wrong solenoid, much too large. Cant make out any of the label on the solenoid itself. Any recommendations? Thanks.

the recommendation is for you to post photos - take them to tinypic.com (disable your ad-blocker on that website) and copy and paste the 'forum code' it provides

sight unseen, you have an original version of the valve, which had a 'conventional' solenoid threaded into a manual-operation adapter

the newer Nelson solenoid combines the solenoid and adapter into a single assembly

If your old valve has the manual-operation adapter, just remove it, and see if the new solenoid will fit in its place.
