TMC 212 toro

Bought a house with a toro irrigation and the unit controls are inside and I would like to move outside. I had a guy come look at it to move and he said the box needed weather stripping but I am not sure if it's designed to be outside without weather stripping or if it's missing the piece. Any help would be appreciated.

There is no cover gasket listed in the parts book. There are other controllers in outdoor cases that do not have a gasketed cover. That may have something to do with all the controller electronics being contained in a removable faceplate.
