Richdel 711APR Sprinkler Valve Won't Turn Off

Richdel, 3/4", 711 APR sprinkler valve wouldn't turn 'off'
after station power was removed. Only way to turn off was to manually
close valve.

Solution:

Without disconnecting (electrically) the solenoid valve, the top
was carefully removed with solenoid valve in-place. Noting diaphragm was
still in good shape, the solenoid was removed (held solenoid and unscrewed
cover assembly ( ref. http://www.irrigationdirect.com/irrigation-products-and-supplies/sprinkler-irrigation-repair-parts/richdel-sprinkler-system-repair-parts/richdel-anti-siphon-electric-valve-711-713-apr-repair-parts
). Note: unscrewing assembly makes sure solenoid wired don't become pinched/disconnected.

Once solenoid was removed, a really small piece of dirt was
found between solenoid valve plunger and seat. Dirt was removed, plunger spring
was re-stretched (providing small amount of additional force on plunger seat
when plunger de-energized) and valve reassembled.

Voila'. Valve works great again - NO PARTS NEEDED.

Note: These sprinker valves are greater than 25y old.
Probably the most reliable thing in my house.

The key repair parts for a 711APR or 713APR will be found in the Irritrol 205TF valve still being today.
