Hunter X-Core has power but display is blank

Hunter XC-800 outdoor model. Multimeter confirms power at the outdoor
outlet (120V) and at the 24VAC AC terminals (26V). Sometimes the display
will show some characters when turning the dial to other settings, but
only for a brief second. Replaced the internal battery (realized the
previous homeowner never pulled out the battery contact insulator), and
this had no effect on the blank display.

If I have power at the
24VAC terminals, can I assume the internal transformer is still good?
Also, how do I remove the front panel to get to the transformer?

Try the factory reset first.

To get to the transformer you have to take the clock off the wall there are 4 screws on the back side.

X-Core. Press and hold down the - , > and program buttons.Press and release the RESET button on the right side of the controller.Wait 2 seconds and release the - , > and program buttons. The display should now show 12:00am. All the memory has been cleared and the controller may now be reprogrammed.

Hope this helps

If the display is still blank yhe timer may need replaced.
