Manual Timer not turning water on

We have an older model Toro sprinkler system that was here when we moved into our present home, 8 years ago.

The device has a manual timer that seems to advance normally; but it never kicks off the water at the set time.

The system works when run manually. (there are 4 zones).

Any thoughts to what to look for that should be happening but is not?

It would cost you more to repair the clock than to replace it. If you do have a pin pushed all the way in (one on the clock wheel and one on the calendar wheel) then you should have automatic watering.
