replace electromechanical controller with electric
Can I simply replace an old (very old 25+ years) electromechanical controller with a new modern electric controller? Is it as simple as intalling the new controller and wireing it? Or is it possible that the valves would not be compatable? I've never worked with an electromechanical controller before.
It can be just that simple. Then again, if you have certain old kinds of valves, it may not be so simple. Some of the old brass valves, like Imperial, had high-current solenoid coils, that will just short out many solid-state controllers.
