Distance between valve and zone?

Hello everyoneIs there a rule of thumb on how close a valve should be to the zone it's irritating? Is 30-40 feet distance between a valve and it's zone a bad idea?

Distance between zone and valve

There is no rule of thumb when it comes to valve placement. There are 4 factors that need to be considered when designing an irrigation system. 1- Static pressure, 2- Dynamic pressure, 3- Friction loss, 4- Pressure loss through fittings. All four of these need to be factored in when designing and installing an irrigation system.
