Single valve will not operate like the other 5.

My number one valve will not start, the other five work fine.

I have appropriate power off the timer on terminal 1, I replaced the solenoid just to eliminate any issues there, though the new solenoid feels warm.

Power voltage reading is the same at timer connection and solenoid connection. I moved the #1 lead to the number 2 connection since it is working properly, number 1 will still not activate by itself.

I back out the solenoid and get water moving, then tighten it back down when leaking stops, the number 1 valve runs for a few seconds and the valve shuts off while there is still time on the timer.

Voltage, Ohms check all as recommended.

What am I missing here?

It sounds like there's something wrong with the valve.
It's usually the diaphragm.
Sometime's there's a clogged port.
Can you post a pic of the valve? Or give the make and model?
Go to www.tinypic.com, upload your pic there, then cut and paste the "forum" code to your post.
