Can you tell me what is the best way to bring the waterline out of my house? I will be tapping into my main line with 1" copper pipe, then running a copper line to a Febco 825Y backflow preventor (inside mount), and then run copper pipe out of the House. I then believe it is best to switch over to PVC 1", and run it a few feet to the master valve (with screw on adapter). I will then continue to run PVC 1" to the branching manifolds, attaching it with a screw-on adapter. Is it better to eliminate the PVC pipe? Is there a Hunter HPV valve that has a double ended attachment fittings for the master valve (PVC to PVC collar /screw-on fittings)? What is the best way to branch from the master valve to each of zone valves (with screw on attachments)?

It is best to convert from copper pipe to PVC pipe once you leave the house and head outside. PVC pipe is easier to use and handle. PVC pipe is also much easier to repair in the future if repair are needed. I high recommend you switch to PVC pipe.

The master valve should just be installed in the water mainline after the backflow device but before any zone valve. The HPV valves with come with 1" female pipe thread inlet / outlet so you can screw a PVC male adapter into the valve and then glue the pipe to the adapter.

Run your mainline around the yard to each valve. The mainline tees off when neeeded to feed each zone valve. The wires from the master valve are run to the controller and then connect them to the master valve outlet on the controller. The zone valve wires are run to the controller and attached to the controller at each zone valve outlet on the controller.<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
