Is it a pain to jump other lines with a vibratory plow?

My design has a lot of lines that have to cross over a line from a different zone. It's been a while, but I seem to remember when using a vibratory plow you can adjust the depth on the fly right? So when I'm crossing a line, I can raise it up a few inches to miss something and then go back to standard depth.
Does that sound right? The other option is run a boat load more pipe to get around. More friction more pipe and more cost.

For the money, you don't cross lines. Extra pipe is cheaper than the possibility of damaging lines during a crossover.
