I went down to the local irrigation store and had a look at the blazing saddles they look kind of neat. And I think to plug one off you use a 1' plug. There's a part that screws down in, you take it out and screw the plug in. However, I'm only guessing that's how you do it. But it seems like it might leak if you did it that way.
I have a question for RVLI---
You like to use the blazing saddles, They seem like they poke pretty far into the pipe, does this cause fluid flow problem? Can you still push the same GPM? Also is it possible that the saddles can leak around puncture hole? With a little wiggling do they leak? Or are they as good as it gets?

It's pretty hard to get them to leak, I think. They claim to have 42-48% less flow restriction than barbed tees, that's why I use them...we don't have much pressure around here.
