I have installed 3 Rain Bird DV Valves. When the solenoid closes after watering, the valves sound like they are slamming shut and are very loud. It is only possible to water during the daytime because the valves sound loud enough to wake the dead.
I have installed a backflow preventer but no pressure regulator. Inlet supply is 150 psi. How can I eliminate the noise.
Whoa buddy! You need a regulater with that kind of pressure! The higher the pressure, the faster the valves close, which stops the water flow faster, which makes a louder sound.
