one zone (#3) not working on Nelson SmartZone EZ

I have a Nelson SmartZone EZ 8500 series system installed in 2000. I know how to program this system and run it manually. Zone #3 is not working. Any ideas what might be wrong?

could be a cut cable or a bad valve.

Have you done any digging in the yard?
