5 zones out of 8 work, but all work in test mode

I wish I lived near you. I love fixing stuff others can't figure out. What does the test mode do? Does it actually turn the valves on for 2 minutes? 1 minute? Or is it looking for shorts? What model timer is it? It sounds like a wiring problem to me. It's hard to tell from here. Your guy should have figured it out by now. You might want to hire a pro. Maybe call the local irrigation specialty house and ask who they recommend.

1/2" brass supply line

I think you mean copper pipe. I've seen sprinkler valves connected to a 1/2" copper pipe a few times. Don't expect to be able to run many heads. I don't recommend doing it that way but what's the worst that can happen? It doesn't work and you have to run a new line anyway. Check the pressure and flow rate before installing.

Low pressure in one of the zones

That's a 2700 series. I'm super tired right now. It's either a 2711APR or a 2123APR. Meaning 3/4" or 1". What size are those pipes? You can try a new diaphragm. That usually works. About 6 bucks. You could also buy the whole valve and swap out all the parts. They're cheap. Like 18 bucks. Or you can glue on the whole new valve. You'll need, primer, glue, cutters and male adapters. Maybe even couplings and some pipe if you want it the exact same height. Click on me Or go to a local irrigation supp...

Irrigation valve box low

You can buy another valve box of the same size and place it on top of the existing box. That'll make it taller. As far as the flooding valve box. That might be another issue. Where's that water coming from?

Rainbird Lsp works on manual but not automatic

I'd reset the controller as per the manual back to the factory settings. Then reprogram and see if it works. I think you meant Rainbird ESP-12.

How do I determine if I have enough GPM to add new heads to this zone?

I'd go ahead and add the sprinklers. Two 8 foot 1/4's use hardly any water.

How do I determine if I have enough GPM to add new heads to this zone?

I don't design sprinkler systems. I only repair them. I can only make suggestions. I'd use schedule 40 for all my piping. I even question the 1/2" laterals. 13 gallons per minute seems like a lot to me. So you're going to fill up 2 2/3 five gallon buckets in a minute. Do the test below to see if you have the water. As far as determining your water flow. Click on this to determine how many heads to use. What's the static pressure? How many heads do you want to put on one line? And what did you de...

how to stabilize a 24 inch riser with a impact sprinkler on top

Using a galvanized riser would help a lot. Try staking it. I use rebar since I can't get the 3/4" round steal stakes anymore. Nothing moved them. Buy 1 or 2 pieces of 1/2" x 48" pieces of rebar. Be careful when you pound them into the ground that you don't break the pipe. If the rebar stops moving don't force it. Pull it out and try a different spot. It would help a lot if you knew what direction the pipe's going. Then wire it up.

Toro Heads: Where's the model number?

I don't see a model number on top of that thing. That's where I'd expect to see it. I don't have a clue what the model number is on that. I've only uninstalled them. Isn't it a little wider and a little shorter than a PGP? Maybe just unscrew it and pop a new sprinkler in there.

Rainbird Controller 600out problem

Turn the dial to the numbered station then press the "one time" button. You have to do that for every station. 1-2-3-4-5-6 etc. If that doesn't work then press the reset button under the bottom cover then reprogram.

Help me identify this old sprinkler valve

The 205 can be tricky to rebuild. You need to be very careful to line the screw holes up correctly. It's easy to pinch that nipple on the bottom of the bonnet and it's ruined. I taught myself a trick on how to do it. I assemble everything in my hand first. Bonnet, spring and diaphragm. Squeeze the diaphragm against the bonnet which depresses the spring. Then put the screws in with three threads poking through. Pull them so the diaphragm's tight against the bonnet. Then CAREFULLY line up the scre...

Sprinkler Repair Blew off Hours Later???

You should use a new piece of pipe. Also use primer and glue. Hold the pipe in place for a few second after twisting it. Make sure it's all the way into the fitting. Make sure the old pipe is clean. Get any calcium deposits or mold off of there. I use fine grit emery cloth. Or you can just scrape it with a knife. If any water mixed with your glue you'll have a weak spot. It shouldn't have to dry that long. Right on the can it says it'll be completely set in 20 minutes. Maybe you have high water ...
