System Re-start After 6 Years, Tune Up, 6 Year Issues

ZONE 3 MALFUNCTION. IS CONTROL VALVE IS TOAST.....? I will replace that with the RB1800s. On zone3 this is all I am getting-7sec vid. I tested the CV-solenoid is working electronically. Turned it on manually and sure water flows, just the same though. I opened the bonnet to clean the diaphragm-it looked clean but I did clean it anyways. The results are still the same. I don't know what type of CV brand it is. All the other zones are working aok. Does this indicate a problem is with the control v...

System Re-start After 6 Years, Tune Up, 6 Year Issues

TOO MUCH RUNOFF I am re-starting my sprinkler system after 6...7 years of non use. It needs tune up. So I have many heads which are flowing water between the sprinkler body and what is riser? Short 20 sec Videos are below. As a result there's just too much water run-off into the street. I replaced one just to see how it will fair. That one has a little of the same. The water in the hole is from the adjacent sprinkler head, which I am yet to get to once I figure this one out. What can I do to fix...

Do you recognize this valve model?

I posted at another forum because while working on cars I have posted on a single forum and there's was no answers forthcoming for a couple of days. Thus, my habit. I just didn't know this forum was impressively very very active. Nevertheless, I am new with this field and I am learning a lot from both and more forums. The thing about the valve purchase recommendations was dependent upon fixing an immediate need, so long at it meets an acceptable standard. I have the rest of the lawn to fix and a...

Do you recognize this valve model?

Quoted from "mrfixit" That's a Rainbird EV100 very similar to the HR1. The parts are interchangeable. In your picture you've cut the pipe already. You may as well replace the valve. Here's the valve at Lowe's you want. Hunter Valve. Yep, 24 volt. This valve seems to have a smaller bonnet meaning that it's parts -inner guts - are specific only to it, compared to the Rain Birds with a wider diaphragm, appear to have a more readily available selection of inner guts including generic parts. Does th...

Do you recognize this valve model?

Quoted from "mrfixit" As long as the valve body and solenoid are ok then the HR1 parts should work. That's a very old valve though. I stumbled upon the idea of an automatic drain valve-below or any effective alt. Now that I am having to fix solenoid I would like to take advantage of this auto drain valve. My questions are 1-Is this a good idea? 2-does each zone need one or one will suffice for all 7 zones, installed at the lowest point? 3-If one is needed for each zone can I install it right ne...

Quoted from "mrfixit" I am not sure how good my other valves are. If I need to replace the bonnet is the HR1 repair kit what I will need? Usually w...

Do you recognize this valve model?

New to the forum, looking forward to learning a lot. I am a typical DIY home owner/under the tree auto mech with my assistant, youtube vidoes and forums. All the same, first time working on sprinkler. 1- Found this thingy was causing a puddle on my yard. Lowes guy didn't know what model this was. Does anyone recognize what it is so I can buy a replacement, the top part? 2- Alternatively if it is easier to buy the entire valve I can work it. Just need to know what's a reliable unit to pick up at ...
