Connecting NEW backyard valve system to existing system (located in the front yard)

Ok, so you have a wire bundle that runs from the controller out to the front box. One of the wires going to the front valve is your common wire. That wire must be spliced to the wires going to the back and must connect to one of the wires for each solenoid. The other solenoid wires should be connected separately to individual wires which need to be spliced in the front box to whatever loose wires you have which lead back to the controller. So your circuits are going to be running from the garage...

is there a controller that keeps the flow and pressure between zone changes

you might consider adding check valves in your sprinkler heads to keep the line charged at all times

Rainbird Modular ESP had all vavles open at the same time.

I have seen various controllers that continuously fired one or more zones after a lightning strike. I am kind of surprised it started working after unplugging it and plugging it back in. Usually it requires a new controller or at least a new module. In some cases a power surge can scramble things and unplugging/plugging solves the issue. I would say the ESP Modular controller is a generally reliable controller. If it seems to be working ok after a few cycles I would probably trust it.

Hunter X-Core system - 1 of 3 stations not working / no water being pumped?

Sounds like you have a valve not working. A wiring issue, bad solenoid, or bad diaphragm are most likely culprits.

Irritrol Wireless Rain sensor

Yes. The light may go out if there has been no activity from the sensor in a while. The next time the sensor is activated, the light should come back on. If you want to check it you can always trigger it manually.

Water running out of zone valve box

I have had issues with manifold drains that open up, only to close tight when the water is turned back on. If you can get to it, it might be worth replacing just as a precaution.

orbit valve defect ?

Is this a jar top valve? If it is, the position of the bleed makes no difference. Any other valve, if the top was on wrong the solenoid would be on the wrong side as well.

System help

Ball valves typically split because they were left in the closed position wither water in them and they froze. If there was water left inside the backflow device you could have some broken parts there as well. Most models are easily taken apart for inspection. The other possibility is that water was left in the underground piping. Best to keep your fingers crossed and see what happens when you turn it on.

Running 9 rotors over full yard at once

It does not matter what kind of pump or heads you use. It is never going to have good coverage with this kind of design. As long as you are going to spend all that money on a pump set up, why don't you do it right the first time?

Trying to winterize underground sprinklers, but not sure where to hook up my compressor.

I would assume you'd hook up by hooking up under that cap in pics 1 and 2. Not having a backflow of some type is troubling.

Hunter X-core sc-800i dialer on controller malfunctioning

Frost Free Hydrant Faucet For Water Supply

I'm not sure that is what WB is suggesting. How are you going to control this valve? If you are going to run it manually you might as well just tap off the end of the hydrant.

Float Valve or Fixed for Pond Pumping

Unscrew the foot valve - problem solved. You may be using them in different applications than I encounter. Most of mine are in recreational lakes and are tied to a dock. One of them has a union coupling on the beach and it is removed and the entire line is taken out of the lake.

Float Valve or Fixed for Pond Pumping

I service a number of systems that have both check valves before the pump and foot valves. They all have long runs before the pumps and sit several feet above the intake. Really not practical to not have a foot valve. The check valves make them difficult to prime and difficult to drain for winter. In one case, whoever installed it installed a check valve on a vertical stretch of PVC and buried it in 6" of sand. With no practical way to get the water out and really no way to tell that the intake ...

Error Code 03 on Toro DDC 8

Try disconnecting the wire for zone 3 and resetting it and see what happens. That really is a crummy controller. Maybe worth replacing it.

No pop-up

I've cut the end of a spring, mostly on high pops. You have to make sure you put the cut end facing the bottom or it will ruin the seal. Like mrfixit said it is best to save the old spring and exchange it with the new one.
