I cant help you with the product line that would suit you best, but if your heads/rotors gears are breaking or nozzles are getting plugged then a filter is necessary. Have sand/silt in the line can also cause valves to malfunction. Usually when using a well, a filter is recommended. Im sure there is someone else on the forum that can assist you in finding the right product.

Sand Filter on shallow well

Guys, I'm a little stuck on whether to install a filter or not and could use some expert opinion. I've got a shallow well that pulls quite a bit of very fine sand. It doesn't seem to affect the system but I'm concerned about the long term effects it could have and so was considering a filter. The problem is with the volume of sand I think the filter would fill up in a day or less, maybe not that bad but there's bunches of sand. I looked at the VuFlow filters and seperators and wondered if I could install an automatic valve to flush the filter frequently knowing that it may kill that valve often and have to be replaced but is this even possible given the amount of sand that's going to come out? Should I just not worry about it and see what happens or is there another product that would handle the amount of sand better?
