sprinkler heads and backflow valves

****o again,

This question involves my design I received back from orbitonline. The design they returned to me is quite complex. It uses numerous types of sprinkler heads in a complex arrangment. Is that normal to an untrained eye? My yard is 158 feet wide and 220 feet deep. My house is approx 95 feet wide including my walkout and retaining wall and 60 feet deep including the porches. There is about 20 feet of yard on the right side (looking from the road in front) and 20 feet on the left of the driveway. There is 70 feet of yard in front of my house and 85 feet in back.

My question is......why can't I just use one or two types of heads for my entire yard? For head with an output of 1.5 gallons per minute and 10 heads in a circuit equaling 15 gallons per minute. Does that make sense? I could use several circuits in my yard all equaling 15 GPM. Tell me how my reasoning is flawed please.

I am just trying to simplify the project in my mind at this time. I'm sure I will make it more complex before I dig....but would something like this work as long as I spread out the heads with head to head coverage?
