Just a guess without being there, but check under the solenoid plunger to see if there's something keeping it slightly open. Look VERY CLOSELY, it doen't take much!!!
The working pressure in the manifold, when one of the other valves is open, might be just off enough to keep the plunger from closing all the way and sealing the port...

valve problem
I had a zone which would not work for some time. Finally, this year I replaced the bonnet (?), diaphram and spring assembly but used the existing bottom part of the valve assembly. The zone initially appeared okay I could turn it off and on at the controller- the trouble is now it will come on when any other zone is activated as well. Have swapped around solenoids with another zone and the problem persists with the original zone. Can anyone advise as to what's wrong? Thank
