Does it happen on every zone or just zone number 1? Try starting 2-3-4 manually.

Sprinkler system stopped working

System worked one day and then wouldn't turn on the next. Controller is a hunter src 6 zone, of which we run 4. When the timer comes on, we hear the click at the pump and may or may not get a second or two of the pump running and water coming out of the sprinklers. It then immediately shuts off and the controller switches from the zone timer to the time of day. No rain sensor that I know of.
We checked the breakers, changed out the fuse on the controller, and checked the voltage on the controller. Voltage is good on all lines though one of the two black wires (not zones) has no power, but maybe it's not supposed to? That's as far as this girl's knowledge extends on all things electric. ;). Any ideas? I think I'm supposed to test voltage near the pump but not sure what I am looking for. TIA
