Connect to water source

I just landscaped my back yard and eliminated all the grass and replaced it with mulch, rock, and plants. I have several pop-up sprinkler heads I plan to convert to drip irrigation. Can I connect all of the sprinkler heads in line or do I need to run a separate line from each one and then add the 1/4 inch drip lines from each one of those. It seems reasonable to me that I could just make one big loop connecting all heads in line and then run the 1/4 drip lines to each plant. Any thoughts?
