Just buy the parts, and maintain the backflow preventer according to manufacturer instructions, and it should last indefinitely. 17 years of service is all the product endorsement you need.
Yes, I found replacement parts. I could spend $35 for parts or $75 for new. I'm thinking new, but looking for pros and cons for different brands.
What is the model number? You can get parts for older Conbraco products.
Preferred brand of Backflow preventer
I have a 17 year old Conbraco 1"back flow preventer that needs a new freeze plug assembly. From what I can tell, this one has been discontinued, but I think I can get parts. But for what they cost, I was thinking of replacing the whole thing. I'm located in NE Nebraska, do I stay with same brand or is there a more preferred brand? Accessabiliy, reliability, parts?
