Water can't get to the sprinkler head unless it gets past the valve. The valve has an internal leak so it comes out the lowest point on the line. You capped off the lowest point so now it's coming out of the second lowest point.
Figure out which valve it is and replace or repair it.

Leaking Head

I noticed one of my sprinkler heads was leaking pretty bad so I capped it off. A few days later I finally bought a new sprinkler but before I installed it, I noticed that now two other heads were leaking. I replaced the sprinkler but the new one began to leak and the other two that were leaking now stopped. I don't understand why the new sprinkler is leaking.
