Missing sprinkler

In my fenced in back yard one of my Rain Bird 5000
sprinklers is missing. My wife thinks
the raccoons somehow took it and I think the winter might have caused the
pressure to shoot the thing sky high. I
live in the Pacific NW so we have only had a few days below zero this
winter. I've looked all over my back
yard and can't find it. I have to admit
that I didn't drain the pipes but I did turn off the water from the main and
then opened the backflow valves. Has
anyone had this happen before? I've added an image but I don't think it is showing up.
