I had to uninstall one of these today. It wasn't turning anymore but it too was leaking where yours was. I went to unscrew it and the dang the wouldn't budge. I finally got it and I can see why you though there might be an o-ring inside there. Nope there's no o-ring or rubber seal. Just tape her up.

I haven't dealt with one of those in years. Is there supposed to be a gasket in there? hmm Not an O-ring that I'm certain.
You can put teflon tape around the threads and tighten it up good.

hunter PGP sprinkler head

I have a leaking Hunter PGP sprinkler head. It is a raised (non-pop up) unit in a garden and it leaks around the screw-on cap. The plastic seems intact. I see no cracks in the plastic. Everything is tight. Is there supposed to be an o-ring under the cap, because I don't see one under this cap? Thanks.
