Depends on how lucky you are.

If your soil will compress some you can wiggle the old one around and push the soil back some.

Then just unscrew.

If not, then shovel work.

Rain bird Maxi-Paw 2045A

How do I replace the entire head, including the outer shell for the Rain Bird 2045A.
I'm thinking I have to dig around it in order to unscrew it.
