If you don't want a controller to run automatically, you turn it off.

Rainbird ESP-M Controller

My Rainbird ESP-M Controller will run in Auto mode even if it is not in Auto. I select a valve for example - Valve 6 and run it in manual mode until it times out and leave it on selection 6 and the next day the sprinklers run as if in Auto and runs Program A, no matter what program I have selected! Obviously it is a BUG in the controller. I tried contacting Rainbird, but they just left me on hold for 20 minutes until I hung up. If I replace the unit, what model and brand is bug free?
