By the way, if the system has a mainline, and a master valve, there can be slow drainage from uphill zones to lower ones, and it will happen even with every part of the system in good working order.

The problem is the valve. Water can't get to that sprinkler head unless it gets past the valve. Could be a hole in the diaphragm. Could be debris in the seat washer. Could be a hairline crack or pit in the seat itself.

leaking sprinkler head

I have one sprinkler head that is along the street curb in front of my home that continually leaks. It has not always leaked but it has started over the past couple of months. I have dug up the connection and found no cracks or breakage of the lines at the connection. I also have tried putting a new sprinkler head on it but I have not had any affect on the constant leakage. The head is lower than the main water line because my front lawn slopes toward the street. I really would like to stop the leak. Any suggestions as to where to go next?
