If it's an exterior model, with wires coming from a 'pipe nipple' then you connect a junction box to the nipple. Your power cord leads into the junction box, and you use wire nuts to make the connection. Although this seems like overkill, it complies with electrical codes, which are concerned with the volume of an enclosure where connections are made.
Installation Question
I recently purchased a Toro controller, TCC-P12 and plan to install my new system soon. I’ve worked with Toro products and controller many years ago and recall that the controllers used a transformer. This model did not come with a transformer, and I did not see if it was built in. Can this be wired using a pig tail cord? I plan to install the controller inside, next to an existing outlet.
Thanks
